Sales activity across the Vancouver Island housing market area continued with an upward swing this May, paving the way for a strong summer market.

Inventory levels continue to remain slightly lower than last year, with active single family listings down approximately nine per cent in the greater Parksville – Qualicum Beach region.

Single Family home sales continue to be strong into March – the number of sales for the greater Parksville – Qualicum Beach region was up 72% for the month of March (74 versus 43 in 2013). 

Year to date sales volume is up 57%.  Inventory continues to be lower, at the end of March the number of active listings was down 12%.

The activity varies in the various sub-areas as do the average sale prices.

2014 single family home sales continue with the same increasing volume that 2103 showed. January's sales in the greater Parksville - Qualicum Beach region were up 19% in volume over January 2013. The number of new listings also jumped by 18%, however the overall active listing inventory is down by 10%.
